Seven Crystals. Seven Colours.

The Crystal Bed Experience

Origins of the Crystal Bed

The Crystal Bed brings together traditions surrounding quartz crystals, colour and the chakra system with a more modern approach to complementary wellbeing. Crystals have featured in spiritual and cultural practices for thousands of years, while the concept of chakras has its roots in ancient Indian traditions.

The modern Crystal Light Bed became associated with the Casa de Dom Inácio in Abadiânia, Brazil, where seven quartz crystals were positioned above the body in alignment with the seven main chakras. Each crystal was illuminated with a corresponding coloured light, creating the distinctive combination of seven crystals and seven colours that is recognised today.

How does a Crystal Bed work?

01. Get Comfortable

Lie comfortably on the treatment bed beneath the Crystal Bed. Sessions are non-invasive and you remain fully clothed.

02. Seven Crystals are Positioned Above You

The seven quartz crystals are arranged above the body, traditionally corresponding with the seven main chakra areas.

03. Coloured Light Passes Through the Crystals

Each quartz crystal is illuminated with a different coloured light, creating the characteristic spectrum of the Crystal Bed.

04. Relax & Switch Off

Close your eyes, relax and enjoy some uninterrupted time for yourself. Many people choose to incorporate the experience into their meditation, mindfulness or wider personal wellbeing routine.

Why Quartz Crystal?

Quartz has long been appreciated around the world for its natural beauty and its place within traditional and contemporary crystal practices.

In a Crystal Bed, quartz is used as the medium through which the coloured light is directed.

The result is a visually distinctive experience that combines the clarity of quartz crystal with the seven colours traditionally associated with the chakra system.
